Gilmorton History Group Newsletter - November 2021
A little early but we wanted to give everyone a last notification of our upcoming event. This will be on Tuesday 2nd November at 7.30pm and again Wednesday 3rd November at 10.00am in the village hall and is our last event for 2021 and will be “Toys and Games thro’ the Ages.”
Although it’s our first proper event this year, ironically, it’s also the last one for 2021. However, our AGM is on Wednesday 24th November at 7.30pm in the village hall. We know these can be boring, but we do get the ‘business side’ out of the way quite quickly and then it’s open forum, free refreshments and even minced pies and your chance to have a say in the way forward with ideas for future events. We are already making some headway and do have some topics pencilled in for 2022 - but we really do need your support. We promise not to pressgang you into anything.
Please note that we will be taking 2022 membership renewals and new subscriptions at both Toys thro’ the Ages event and at the AGM. Subscription is £10 for the year and is very good value giving members free entry to all regular events, a monthly newsletter and any other important updates and first choice of tickets to any special ticketed event, social event and/or trips out. Members receive early notifications prior to them being made public.
After a successful bid for windfarm funding we have received another big surprise. After having our small display at the beer festival earlier in the year we have now received a donation of £250 from the Beer Festival Committee. This is an invaluable addition to our funds. A big thank you to the beer festival committee.
So, after a terrible 21 months, we are back. Please come along to the event and give us your support. We do look forward to seeing everyone.
