Just a reminder about our next event on Tuesday 5th November and Wednesday 6th November at 10.00am. The event itself is all about the church and its vicars and is quite a controversial subject and includes old newspaper articles about some good vicars and some who may have chosen the wrong path! There will be a video running which includes a drones view of the church, bell restoration and a range of photographs of the church.
The Tuesday event will start a little earlier at 7.00pm to enable us to conduct our 9th AGM. Everyone is welcome and its your chance to have your say, good or bad, we listen.
We have provisionally identified our 2025 events and as a taster there will be an Attfields film show, a photographic competition and the launch of something we have been working on for over a year but more about those in the next newsletter.
Running the history group takes a tremendous amount of hard work which is not always obvious.
Currently we have only four active committee members plus our angels in the kitchen at events. This is a heavy workload and if we are to continue, we must increase our helpers.
We would love to increase both committee members and non-committee volunteers So, if you feel you could be part of the team and get involved in Gilmorton’s fascinating history, we would love to hear from you.
A timely reminder that membership for 2025 is now due, it is still only £10 for the year and can be renewed at our any of our events.
