Gilmorton History Group – Newsletter July 2021
And so the saga continues…
After the announcement by Boris Johnson to extend the restrictions due to Covid, we have had no choice but to cancel our planned “Open House” event on 6/7th July.
Not to be too down hearted we have already re-arranged this event.
Open House will now be on Tuesday 7th September at 7.30pm and again on Wednesday 8th September at 10.00am both in the village hall. Once again this is open to everyone including newcomers to the village. Refreshments will be available. Obviously, this event is subject to any more changes imposed.
Please ignore the “Open House” advert in the next edition of the Swift Flash. The Covid restriction extension came too late for us to cancel the advert as the edition had already gone to the printers.
We have been working in the background and had provisionally planned two more events for later in the year. Due to re-arrangements this has now been reduced to the Open House in September and one event in November so watch this space for details about that one a little later.
Work on the Website is still ongoing and currently “Gilmorton at War” should be the next one uploaded. This is a huge category for us as we have so much material in our archives. It will be a little while before it is ready for the Website.
Please note that all our event dates and times, newsletters and any important notifications etc are now published on the Website.
